Dr. Bernard Nii Torgbor is a highly experienced family medicine specialist with 18 years of expertise in clinical practice, medical education, healthcare administration, leadership, and occupational health and safety.
Throughout his career, Dr. Torgbor has held several key leadership positions in healthcare. He previously served as the Medical Director of Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw, where he led a team of over 300 healthcare professionals. In January 2017, he took on the role of Medical Director at VALCO Hospital. Since then, he has spearheaded numerous high-impact initiatives, including the implementation of the VALCO medical review and insurance renewal systems. These initiatives have significantly improved patient compliance, better managed chronic medical conditions, and reduced the incidence of life-threatening complications such as chronic kidney disease and stroke.
Dr. Torgbor holds an MSc in Public Health with a focus on Occupational Health and Safety, and an MBChB, both from the University of Ghana. He is a proud member of the Ghana and West African Colleges of Physicians (Family Medicine) and has completed a certificate in Leadership and Management in Health from the University of Washington. Additionally, he is certified in Basic and Advanced Life Support by the American Heart Association.
He is an active member of the Ghana Medical Association and the World Organization of National Colleges, Academies, and Academic Associations of General Practitioners/Family Physicians (WONCA).
